Nah…let’s both chalk this up to where I was where you were and all the life in between the two. Thanks for your view and the words to describe that view. So Good! I’m so done…………
Never have I seen an artist capture our “fullness” – the lilt of our laughter, our gaze, the rhythm of our hips, our vernacular even – in such beautiful and accurate fashion! I love it! “You Want This”! Yes! I’m going to have to spring for some artwork!
Have you ever heard of Margaret Burroughs? I just saw a documentary/film about her today titled “What Should I Tell My Children Who Happen to Be Black?”, produced by Nate Grant. Ms. Burroughs was a visual artist and singular force behind the opening of the DuSable Museum here in Chicago (only Black History Museum). She was quite a Life Artist. I thought she was so empowering in her poetry as well as her artwork. I thought of your drawings when I saw her work. fyi/ Just wanted to share that.
Oh, Tots, what a joy to see these paintings of yours. The “Come Get This Body” one is just TOO good! You truly do need your own syndicated cable TV show, you know!
Cocomo gals … fabulous!
Those colours are like a perfect African sunset … drums shimmy-shammy thru the veldt, lions pad their way softly softly to the waterhole, Zulu voices chorus, rhythym pulses, zebra bark greetings to the night, moon’s rising and cheetahs lope through the grass … monkeys chattter as a light breeze flicks across treetops – the night sways in, cheers catchul8r molly
I’m not sure how you can make a two-dimensional image “flow” or “move,” but you did, Tots. I love the way you express yourself in visual and written images. You are a treasure…a real treasure.
I'm an artist who's writing, mothering, blogging and doing a few other things under the sun. I buy toilet paper 99.9% of every trip I make to the grocery store. I'm a people watcher, so I know you're here but drop me a line anyway.
Love these paintings, very bright and expressive
Thanks, Rumpie.
Ah, that record player brings back so many great and fond memories!
I’m sure it did. Those little babies are worth a pretty penny now.
OMG, Totsy, are you exhibiting your work anywhere?? So vivid and fluid. I feel the jazz and the love when I gaze upon your art.
Thank you.
A couple of galleries in California carry my work. These ladies are some of my favorites.
Fantastic I really like these Totsymae, will they be available in your gallery? Can you ship internationally?
I can put them in my gallery. Sure, I can ship your way.
They’re in the gallery now.

Fantastic!
Thank you.
James Brown said it best, “So good! So good…!!”
That’s Joe Tex. They do have a similar sound.
Wait…James Brown’s “I Feel Good…so good, so good………” isn’t that it? If not…..opps!
James Brown does sing that song but not the one on the blog.
Oh TM….I was sayin’ “So Good! So Good! to your post…but gave James Brown the credit because he did say it best.
RR
Oh, okay. I screwed that up big time, huh…:-)

Thanks, Somer. They are sassy, for sure.

No, I’ve not heard of her. I’ll have to stalk her on the web. Thanks for introducing me.
I love the paintings! Why didn’t I know you had an art website? These women are breathtaking!
Thanks. I announced the site here. I said a lot of other things when I announced it, so I probably muddled that I’d put one up.
I am happiest when I dance, and your paintings just made me want to get up and dance – this is a happy morning!
You’ll have to vlog those dance moves for us.
The best so far. I can hear the music and I’m swaying!
Thanks. Keep up now.
Totsy, you have outdone yourself with these pieces! They are superb! I love the bright use of color, the expressions, the movement! They have it all!
Thanks, Bella. They’re very confident women, that’s for sure.
You have captured movement in all 3
Thanks, Carl. I hope you danced with the ladies.

Thanks, Granbee. You mean, like a reality show? Hmmm….

Wow, Molly. I didn’t see all that but hey, I’ll go with it. Thanks.

Thanks. These ladies are some of my favorites. I was listening to Janet Jackson when I painted them, now that I think about it.
Great paintings, Tots. I love images where rubenesque women are showing how much they are able to love their bodies.
I’ve sold a lot of painting with rubenesque figures in them. These women definitely love who they are.
