Watercolor & Ink on paper. Single white mat. Art Size: 6.5x4.5 Matted Size: Approx. 12.25x10.5 Copyright 2011. Totsymae
Getting an early start. I come bearing gifts, folks but here’s the deal. I don’t like long lines at the post office. I know, a sorry way to propose an idea, ain’t it? Hear me out first. For the month of November, what’s mine is yours. At least, what I choose to be yours anyway. Sorry about that. We simply have to set some limits. I don’t want you getting beside yourself.
First off, I don’t have any electronic gifts for you to download or email to you. Therefore, in order to receive the gift, you have to email your address to me. Now, don’t go thinking I’m in the business of finding you or nothing. As much as I like you, I ain’t interested in you that way. Plus, I have a poor navigation system, which simply means I don’t have one set up on the dashboard of my car ’cause I figure Mapquest can get me just as lost for the cost of a little ink and a sheet of paper. You wouldn’t believe how many states I’ve been to on account of lostness. Lastly, since I have a knack for ending up lost, I wouldn’t be the one driving up on you to say boo, stick’em up and get your ass out the car or none of that foolishness.
Now that we’ve ironed that out, you’ll have to do certain things to get this gift. Each week offers something different, which I’ll post on here. So. It’s real simple y’all. All you gotta do is name the artist of the tune I present you with. Write your response in the comment section, of course. Also, pick a number, between 25 – 45 and write that in the comment section too. I’m asking you to pick a number in case there’s a tie. I’ll have Little Totsy or Mr. Boy draw a number and that’ll finalize who wins for the week. Winners will be announced next weekend. No gift is the same for each week, folks but I think you’ll like them all the same.
Now, back to me not liking post office lines. I ain’t going but once, y’all, so after the four weeks are over, I’ll mail your gifts. I’ll let you know each week who won so everybody can clap for you and whatnot. This week’s gift is an original piece of art. It’s unframed and matted with archived material. That simply means the mat won’t change colors on you. You’ll have to get your own frame now. The framed stuff I have here is mine or for paying customers. Anyhow. Expect to see other contest offerings for the rest of the month, every weekend. Now, don’t go emailing your address unless you win. I’m not in the address collecting business.
From here, all you have to do is click the video and there’s your song, folks. Play as many times as you like but you can only win once. Easy, enough? By the way, the video is my art for Creative Every Day.

I don’t know who this artist is, I usually listen to Latin. So I’ve got to pass but I love your painting (and the singer’s voice). Nice work.
Sorry. Had to change it but it’s still not Latin music.
Totsy, I love this music, but haven’t a clue who it is. Can you please use some hip hop or rap? I know a lot of that. And I want to win, one way or the other. Can your kids be bribed? I have no trouble sending you my address, my phone number, and shoot girl, I’ll even send you one of my dogs. (That last was a little joke. I know how you feel bout dogs.)
Okay. I changed the song. I’ve been having a problem with loading and
I think the other video caused the site to run very slow. I’m not sure
if the new, shorter video helps or not. But try again if you like.
It’s an EXILE song. But I’ll be darned if I can name the singer. 2 8.
That 28 is in case that’s all I need to know. Okay, now did I win?
Haven’t a clue, but I like the sentiment and her voice… great idea. You will tell us eventually-yes? So we can add to our own musical collection. Great idea, by the way. Some of us are music addicts and always looking for new discoveries.
I will tell you the artist since I had to change the video. It was
Phyllis Hyman. I uploaded a different song due to technical
issues on my end, if you wanna try again.
Damn, have no clue!! And I thought I’d be a shoe-in at this game. I don’t listen to any R&B though.
Oh, well you get another try, if you want. Had tech problems with the
other video.
The video wouldn’t play this morning, so I have no idea who it is, but I’ll keep checking in case there’s another chance to win some of your fabulous artwork.
“You wouldn’t believe how many states I’ve been to on account of lostness.” – Love this!
Gorgeous watercolor!
-Tots,
I’ll try back later…cannot get the song! DAMN. Xx
The video was blocked from playing “due to copy-write” something, so I couldn’t hear it either (not that I’d have a clue about the artist or song–I’m not that savvy when it comes to music past the 1980s). Love the artwork, tho. Someone is going to be VERY happy!
Couldn’t get the video either, but probably wouldn’t have known it anyway. I’ll just imagine something great – like Adele – or Andrea Bocelli – or Blackeyed Peas. I’m quite versatile.
Can’t get the song and I want a shot at your beautiful watercolor!
Aw man… The video is being blocked by WMG so it’s unavailable here. But in that spirit, I’ll throw in a guess and say, “The Sound of Silence” by Simon and Garfunkel.
I get the blocked by WMG message too
Started reading this post yesterday then had to dash.
Like everyone else, I was blocked.
Next time.
